 Tulin Glasswork

 Tulin Bedri

Glass artist Tulin Bedri currently based in South West England explores texture and mark making using both stained glass and kiln forming techniques on glass. Recent work draws on nature to reflect on our sense of place in the world, and comments on both global and personal themes around dislocation in times of uncertainty. Glass is undeniably a beautiful and at times challenging material to work with.  The playful interaction of everchanging light with the glass work also presents opportunities to express themes of hopefulness.

About

Tulin originally comes from a printmaking background, having focused on this process during her BA in Drawing and Applied Art. She became interested in the potential of glass within printmaking, so much so, that she created a flexo-plate from a photograph of a shadow and cast this image onto glass. Much of Tulin's time after her BA was focused on her career as an art therapist and mother until an opportunity presented itself to study part time for an MA in Glass in Swansea. This enabled her to re-ignite her passion for glass and to have the opportunity to deepen her understanding of this beautiful and complex material.  Since graduating her work has been commended by the Contemporary Glass Society. Tulin continues to explore, make, exhibit and sell her work.
